TII's Annual Meeting 2006: “Innovation in the 21st Century”

We are pleased to announce that next year’s annual conference will be held from 26 to 28 April in Newcastle-Gateshead (UK) on the theme of “Innovation in the 21st Century – Foresight, Technology, Globalisation”. Our hosts will be Gordon Ollivere, the outgoing President of the Association, and his organization, RTC North. A pre-programme and early-bird registration form will be sent to you in January, but in the meantime you might like to reserve the dates in your diary and note the following preliminary information.

Dates: Wednesday 26 to Friday 28 April 2006 . Venue: Hilton Hotel, Newcastle-Gateshead Millennium Quayside (UK) Host:RTC North, Sunderland Theme: “Innovation in the 21st Century”, comprising as core topics Foresight, Technology and Globalisation, with a view to building internal innovation capacity for long-term sustainability of businesses. Speakers:High-ranking representatives from government, industry, academia and international organisations from the UK and abroad. Format:    A mix of plenary presentations, inter-active workshops and point and counterpoint sessions. RIM Urged to Settle BlackBerry Case: " The stakes in a bitter legal feud over the BlackBerry wireless e-mail service just got a bit higher. This week, a tiny patent holding firm battling the device's creator, Research In Motion, announced a license agreement with RIM rival Visto. With the deal in hand, Visto went straight to court and sued Microsoft for similar infringement claims. The announcements could put more pressure on RIM to settle with its little challenger, NTP, perhaps for up to US$1 billion.
